A massive ‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’ update has been delayed

A planned update for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 has been delayed by two weeks, as developers work on a fan-favourite map.

Black Ops 6’s season two launched January 28 and was due to run until March 20, when season three would go live.

However in a new post from developers, that schedule has now shifted. “Season 03 is a big moment for Call Of Duty: Warzone and Black Ops 6, and we’re taking the time to deliver a great experience starting on April 3,” Activision said in a statement.“More to come following Call of Duty: Warzone’s 5th anniversary next week.”

Last year, developers confirmed they were set to bring back the original Warzone map Verdansk in spring 2025. While there’s been no official news about its inclusion in season 3, insider CharlieIntel recently reported that a number of content creators had been playtesting the fan-favourite map.

The Call Of Duty shop has also been teasing a Verdansk collection, inviting fans to check back on March 10 for more information.

Verdansk was first introduced with the original iteration of Warzone back in March, 2020 but was replaced by Caldera in December, 2021, so it’s been a while since fans have gotten to play it again.

As part of Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6’s season 2, players have been able to unlock Terminator and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle-inspired skins, which has been met with mixed reviews from fans who want a more authentic first-person shooting experience.

Speaking to NME last year, senior director of Call Of Duty Studios’ communications Stephanie Snowden, said: “I don’t know what it is about that 90s action hero feeling, but it’s absolutely something we were inspired by. We wanted the game to be grounded in that particular time and place, but it’s still Call Of Duty. It needs to feel big and it needs to have really kick ass moments.”

In other news, the new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game won’t just be a remake of previous entries, with developers promising “new music, skaters and features”.
