AleXa teases upcoming album with new single, ‘Joy of Missing Out’
K-pop singer AleXa has dropped a brand-new single titled ‘Joy of Missing Out’, lifted from her upcoming English album.
The song was released on streaming platforms today (August 30), marking the fourth English-language single AleXa has dropped in 2024. Previous singles include ‘i’m okay’, ‘sick’ and ‘Distraction’, all of which are pre-released cuts from her upcoming English album.
“Like New Year’s Eve / Friends and crowds give me joy of missing out / Drama queens, creeps and clowns / Honey, you can count me out,” she sings on the chorus. Details such as a title and release date for her upcoming English debut have yet to be shared by ZB Label.
‘Joy of Missing Out’ is described in a press release as an anthem for introverts, celebrating the joy that comes from solitude and self-reflection. “I, myself, am an extrovert, but I’m the only one in my friend group. This song goes out to all those who’d rather party by themselves than get lost in the crowd,” AleXa said.
In a recent interview with NME, AleXa shared some detail about the potential concept and message of her forthcoming record. “We wanted to go with a sound, image and overall aesthetics that are kind of a 180 to what we’ve done so far with AleXa the K-pop artist,” she revealed.
In other K-pop news, Source Musice quintet LE SSERAFIM have made their long-awaited comeback with their fourth mini-album ‘Crazy’, headlined by a title track of the same name.
