Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz Celebrate ‘Spectacular’ Son Genesis’ Ninth Birthday
Genesis Ali is nine years old, and in a pair of sweet Instagram posts, parents Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz paid tribute to their youngest son’s last single-digit birthday on Wednesday (Dec. 27).
“My beautiful boy!!” wrote the “Girl on Fire” singer, sharing a carousel of photos of Genesis. “Happy Born Day My Amazing Son!”
“You are singularly spectacular!!!” the Grammy favorite (she’s got 15 wins to her name) continued. “There is NO ONE like you!! That’s my favorite thing about you!! You know you! Keep being you! Never doubt your greatness! You are unforgettable!! Keep glowing!!!! You are adored on so many levels!!!!! Happy Birthday!!!! 🎊🎁🎂🎉🎈”
Keys and the hip-hop producer, who tied the knot in 2010, welcomed Genesis in 2014. They also share 13-year-old son Egypt Daoud.
In his Instagram post about Genesis’ birthday, Swizz — whom Billboard ranked the eighth best hip-hop producer of all time in a recent list — shared his own collection of photos, including an adorable snap of him holding his son as a baby about nine years ago. “Deep down my guy is a loving soul🙏🏽” wrote the “Money in the Bank” rapper. “The most honest person I ever met so don’t ask him a question if your not ready for the uncut answer 😮💨”
“We love you my prince 🤍,” added the artist, who’s also dad to 15-year-old Nicole, 16-year-old Kasseem Jr. and 22-year-old Prince Nasir from past relationships. “Please wish Gen HBD although he said he don’t want nobody saying HBD.”
Swizz and the “Empire State of Mind” vocalist have shared a number of scrapbook moments with Genesis over the past year, including his special meetup with old friend Taylor Swift. Years after the “Anti-Hero” singer and the little boy’s paths crossed at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, the pop star invited Genesis backstage at the Eras Tour — where she gave him a handwritten card and a kiss on the cheek.
“Big love to @taylorswift for your big beautiful spirit that makes everyone feel loved!” Keys wrote on Instagram at the time. “Genesis adores u.”
Swizz also shared a photo of his son playing bodyguard for mom at the singer’s Keys To The Summer Tour, with Genesis standing onstage in front of Keys with a stony disposition. “My boy said I’m not playing no games on mom’s stage,” he captioned the July 31 Instagram post. “He a real serious one. Thank you Gen we love you and your protection. He didn’t care she was live on stage.”
