All ‘Pokemon TCG Pocket’ expansions – A complete guide to every booster set
Pokemon TCG Pocket has been out for around half a year now, and we have already seen several expansions and booster sets for the game. But, with so many cards, it can be hard to remember what each set introduced and how many cards were available.
That is why we have a guide and breakdown of every set, with an overview of each one, the additions they brought to the formula, and the special and rare cards available.
‘Pokemon TCG Pocket’ expansions
- Genetic Apex – Launched on October 30, 2024 (3 pack expansion)
- Mythical Island – Launched on December 17, 2024 (1 pack themed booster set)
- Space-Time Smackdown – Launched on January 30, 2025 (2 pack expansion)
- Triumphant Light – Launched on February 27, 2025 (1 pack themed booster set)
- Shining Revelry – Launches on March 27, 2025 (1 pack themed booster set)

Genetic Apex (A1)
- Release Date: October 30, 2024
- Card Numbers: 226 cards + 60 rare cards
- EX Pokemon Cards: Venusaur, Exeggutor, Charizard, Arcanine, Moltres, Blastoise, Starmie, Articuno, Pikachu, Zapdos, Gengar, Mewtwo, Machamp, Marowak, Wigglytuff
- Trainer Cards: Erika, Misty, Blaine, Koga, Giovanni, Brock, Sabrina, Lt. Surge
- Rainbow Pokemon Cards: Moltres, Articuno, Zapdos, Gengar, Machamp, Wigglytuff
- Immersive Cards: Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Mew
- Gold Cards: Charizard, Pikachu, Mewtwo
Genetic Apex was the launch set for Pokemon TCG Pocket. It includes the most cards of any set in the game currently. It didn’t introduce anything revolutionary, as it was the basic set, but it has more than a dozen EX Pokemon across all three booster packs.

Mythical Island (A1a)
- Release Date: December 17, 2024
- Card Numbers: 68 cards + 18 rare cards
- EX Pokemon Cards: Celebi, Gyarados, Mew, Aerodactyl, Pidgeot
- Trainer Cards: Budding Expeditioner, Blue, Leaf
- Rainbow Pokemon Cards: Mew, Aerodactyl
- Immersive Cards: Celebi
- Gold Cards: Mew
Mythical Island was the first themed booster pack set in the game. It introduced a number of new mythical Pokemon, such as Celebi and Mew. It also introduced a number of additional items and trainers. It has the lowest number of cards in any set at 86 cards.

Space-Time Smackdown (A2)
- Release Date: January 30, 2025
- Card Numbers: 155 cards + 52 rare cards
- EX Pokemon Cards: Yanmega, Infernape, Palkia, Pachirisu, Mismagius, Gallade, Weaville, Darkrai, Dialga, Lickilicky
- Trainer Cards: Cyrus, Team Galactic Grunt, Cynthia, Volkner, Dawn, Mars
- Rainbow Pokemon Cards: Yanmega, Infernape, Palkia, Pachirisu, Mismagius, Gallade, Weaville, Darkrai, Dialga, Lickilicky
- Immersive Cards: Palkia, Dialga
- Gold Cards: Palkia, Dialga
Space-Time Smackdown was the second full expansion for the game. It has more than 150 cards, with more than 50 additional rare cards. The set dove deep into Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl with highlights from the generation. It was also the first set to introduce Pokemon Tools to battles.

Triumphant Light (A2a)
- Release Date: February 27, 2025
- Card Numbers: 75 cards + 21 rare cards
- EX Pokemon Cards: Leafeon, Glaceon, Garchomp, Probopass, Arceus
- Trainer Cards: Irida, Celestic Town Elder, Barry, Adaman
- Rainbow Pokemon Cards: Leafeon, Glaceon, Garchomp, Probopass
- Immersive Cards: Arceus
- Gold Cards: Arceus
Triumphant Light was the second themed booster pack for the game. It didn’t add any new card types of mechanics. However, it did focus on Arceus and other legendary Pokemon, including Origin Form Dialga and Palkia, as well as Eeveeloutions. It also introduced a new rare design for the Pokemon in the set.

Shining Revelry (A2b)
- Release Date: March 27, 2025
- Card Numbers: TBA
- EX Pokemon Cards: Beedrill, Charizard, Wugtrio, Pikachu, Giratina, Lucario, Paldean Clodsire, Tinkaton, Bibarel
- Trainer Cards: Iono, Red
- Rainbow Pokemon Cards: TBA

Shining Revelry is the first set to introduce shiny Pokemon to the game. It includes a number of shiny variants of Pokemon, alongside their normal variants. It also introduces a new design for full-art shiny variants.
