Anne Wilson to Release New Music Under UMG Nashville & Capitol CMG Partnership
Universal Music Group Nashville and Capitol Christian Music Group have partnered for the release of new music from Grammy-nominated artist Anne Wilson. Additionally, Wilson has signed with The Neal Agency, the boutique operation that’s home to artists including Morgan Wallen, Ernest, HARDY, Bailey Zimmerman, Riley Green, Ashland Craft and Ella Langley. Wilson continues to be managed by Matthew West‘s Story House Collective.
In 2022, Wilson released her debut major label album, My Jesus, and topped Billboard‘s Christian Airplay and Hot Christian Songs charts with the project’s title track (the album also debuted atop the top Christian albums chart). She followed with the top 5 Hot Christian Songs hit “Sunday Sermons” and the top 20 Hot Christian Songs single “Living Water.” Additionally, her collaboration with Phil Wickham, “Behold,” reached No. 2 on the Christian Airplay chart.
My Jesus features a blend of contemporary Christian lyrics with the sounds of modern country music and featured Lady A member Hillary Scott on the song “Mamas.” Last year, Wilson took home two GMA Dove Awards: for new artist of the year and pop/contemporary recorded song of the year (“My Jesus”).
Wilson is slated to perform in Nashville this week as part of CMA Fest. She made her Grand Ole Opry debut last year, with another Opry performance slated for June 16.
“From the moment we first met Anne, it was clear she had a special talent and an incredible story and message,” said Capitol CMG’s Brad O’Donnell and Hudson Plachy in a statement. “It’s been so rewarding to be a part of the success she’s had with her debut project and we are thrilled to have UMG Nashville and Cindy Mabe as partners for this next chapter. We believe there’s no ceiling for what Anne can achieve.”
“Anne Wilson is a boundary-pushing artist who belongs in both Christian and country music formats and cultures,” added UMG Nashville chair/CEO Mabe. “She’s here to take her story and the power of her music to new audiences, while continuing to be an ambassador of faith in youth culture and beyond within the Christian music audience. She’s unique and dynamic in sound, purpose and spirit and getting to partner with her, her team at Story House Collective, and Hudson Plachy and Brad O’Donnell and their team at Capitol Christian Music Group is a great privilege.”
“I am so excited to partner with UMG Nashville, and with The Neal Agency,” Wilson said. “Over the last two years, I have watched God open doors for my music that I could never open for myself. I see these new partnerships as another open door to share the message of hope, faith and the love of my Jesus to an even broader audience. I can’t wait to see what happens next!”
