Arcade Fire announce one-off London Royal Albert Hall show for next month

Arcade Fire in 2024

Arcade Fire have announced a one-off show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. Find the details below.

The date comes in celebration of the band announcing their forthcoming album ‘Pink Elephant’ last week and dropping the new lead single ‘Year Of The Snake’.

Set to see frontman Win Butler and co. perform the tracklist from the new record in its entirety, the gig at Royal Albert Hall will take place on May 14 – just days after its full release on May 9.

Tickets for the one-off London gig will go on sale next Friday (April 24) at 10am BST, although presale options will commence on Wednesday (April 23). Visit here for tickets.

News of the UK show comes shortly after the band revealed the international cities that will receive live previews of ‘Pink Elephant’ too. These kick off with two shows in Mexico City, followed by stops in New Orleans, Montreal, Brooklyn and more – see the full list of dates below and get tickets for international shows here.

The upcoming record marks the seventh studio album from Arcade Fire and is set to explore a “cinematic mystical punk” approach.

When it was first announced, it was confirmed that it would span 42minutes and include 10 new songs – all of which were recorded at Win Butler and Régine Chassagne’s own Good News Recording Studio in New Orleans.

The lead single sees Chassagne deliver soothing vocals and make her Arcade Fire debut on the bass, while frontman Win Butler sits behind the drum kit for the first time with the band. Check it out above and visit here to pre-order ‘Pink Elephant’.

The shows where the band will play the album in full join previously announced tour dates, with Butler and co. recently announcing their only ‘Funeral’ 20th-anniversary show for North America at Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

News of new material follows on from allegations of sexual misconduct that arose against Butler. Four people came forward to accuse the singer of inappropriate behaviour, and the accusations also led to Feist leaving her tour early. Butler replied to the allegations in a lengthy statement of his own, claiming he was “very sorry to anyone who I have hurt with my behaviour” but maintaining that “these relationships were all consensual”.
