Armie Hammer wants you to call him a cannibal now – launches new podcast

Armie Hammer is comfortable with the idea of being referred to as a cannibal now, as he launches his new podcast Armie HammerTime. Watch its first episode below.

The star of Call Me By Your Name and The Social Network was accused of rape and sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2021, notably by one woman named Effie, who shared screenshots allegedly sent by the actor in which he shared cannibalistic fantasies.

Hammer – who was dropped by his agent and publicist in the wake of the allegations and exited a number of projects – has denied the accusations, and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office said last year that it would not pursue a case against the actor in regards to Effie’s allegations. No cases have been brought against Hammer in relation to the allegations.

Now, in the debut episode of the podcast, Hammer has discussed how his relationship with the public rumours about him has shifted since the scandal broke.

Speaking to guest Tom Arnold, he said: “I’m not gonna lie. I’m just like, ‘Hey, I’m a cannibal’. What makes more noise? ‘Armie Hammer is a cannibal’ or ‘Armie Hammer might not be a cannibal’?”

“You don’t get an apology tour in this world. Someone says something about you, everyone believes it and then they move on with their lives to whatever it is that they’re focused on, because they’ve got their own lives,” he added.

In the summer, Hammer said in an interview with Bill Maher that going through the ordeal was a necessary challenge, and that he found it “liberating” and was “happier than ever”.

In August, Hammer revealed he was selling one of his trucks because he “can’t afford gas anymore”.

“I bought this for myself in 2017 as a Christmas gift for myself because I’ve had pickup trucks for a long time and I have loved this truck intensely.” He then said he’s brought this same truck on several road trips and camping tricks, but he’s letting it go because he “can’t afford it.” “I can’t afford the gas anymore.”

In July 2022, it was reported that Hammer working as a timeshare salesman at a hotel resort in the Cayman Islands to support his family after going “broke” from the allegations.

Last year, Hammer addressed claims of sexual misconduct from two women, Courtney Vucekovich and Paige Lorenze, denying any criminal wrongdoing but admitting he “one million per cent” emotionally abused them. During the 2023 interview, Hammer also said he attempted suicide in 2021 in the wake of the allegations, while also revealing he was sexually abused aged 13.
