Axl Rose joins Billy Joel at final show of historic Madison Square Garden residency

Axl Rose and Billy Joel perform together at Madison Square Garden

For his historic 150th – and last – show as part of his Madison Square Garden residency, Billy Joel brought out Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose to perform a number of songs – watch footage of the performances below.

Last night (July 25), Joel wrapped up his decade-long residency with a spectacular showing, as the Piano Man pulled out all of the hits at the hallowed New York venue for a final time.

Midway through the set, Joel was joined by Axl Rose for two back-to-back performances, first kicking off with a cover of Wings‘ ‘Live And Let Die’, and AC/DC‘s ‘Highway To Hell’.

Watch fan-shot footage of the performances below.

Afterwards, Joel continued on with his record-breaking show with hits like ‘We Didn’t Start The Fire’, ‘Uptown Girl’, ‘It’s Still Rock And Roll To Me’ and ‘Big Shot’. To close out his last residency show, Joel once again brought out Axl Rose, this time for ‘You May Be Right’. You can check out that performance below.

In June, Guns N’ Roses’ Slash revealed in an interview that “2025 is all about Guns N’ Roses”. He had previously teased that the band were “trying” to make a new album. They have not released a full-length record since 2008’s much-delayed ‘Chinese Democracy’, on which Slash did not appear. Since he rejoined in 2016, they have released a handful of new tracks, including ‘Absurd’, ‘Hard Skool’, ‘Precious’ and ‘The General’, but there has been no confirmation of a further album.
