Bad Bunny, Blink-182, MUNA & More: Coachella 2023’s Best Moments From Day One
Day one of Coachella had it all: surprise superstar guests like The Weeknd and Post Malone, live debuts of new music from artists like MUNA Kaytranada, a long-awaited reunion show from Blink-182 and a two-plus hour headlining set courtesy of Bad Bunny that covered a whole lot of ground (so much so that jet skis were involved).
The 2023 edition of the festival got off to a strong start with performances by Pusha T, MUNA, Burna Boy, Kaytranada, Becky G, Blondie, Metro Boomin and many more.
For those at home, YouTube streamed live from all stages of the festival — and will continue to do so throughout this weekend and during the fest’s round two April 21-23. On Saturday night, BLACKPINK will take the main stage (followed by Calvin Harris, who isn’t billed as a headliner though will close out day two) and Frank Ocean will act as the festival’s finale, performing as Sunday’s highly anticipated headliner.
As for Bad Bunny, the performance (for which Jon Hamm was spotted in the crowd) capped off a celebratory — and whirlwind — few years for the global star. Having recently wrapped his record-breaking World’s Hottest Tour, he reimagined the show for Coachella — leaning into the tropical elements with palm trees and the aforementioned jet skis while also introducing new twists and turns from an acoustic-turned-unplugged duet with Posty to an unexpected and honest speech.
