Bakar announces London 2024 Alexandra Palace show
Bakar has announced a London headline show for later this year – you can find all the details below.
The Camden-born singer-songwriter is due to play a huge homecoming gig at Alexandra Palace on Thursday December 5, 2024.
Tickets go on general sale at 10am BST today (Thursday August 29) – you can purchase yours here.
Sharing the news of the upcoming concert on Instagram, Bakar wrote: “Ain’t played a show @ home all year. My best one yet. .” Check out the post below.
Bakar released his second studio album, ‘Halo’, in September 2023. The record followed on from his 2022 debut ‘Nobody’s Home’.
This time last year, Bakar made his main stage debut at Reading & Leeds 2023. Speaking to NME backstage at Reading, the artist discussed his love of Foals and going “back to his true indie rock roots” on ‘Halo’.
“We actually made it in New York at Electric Lady studios, it was all live and about us going back to basics: drums, guitar, vocals,” the musician explained. “That’s what this song [‘Right Here, For Now’] is. And it feels fresh – especially in the context of 2023.”
He also said he would “love to” collaborate with the Yannis Philippakis-fronted band in the future, adding: “I just love watching their growth.”
Bakar continued: “They’ve aged so amazingly. There are so many UK bands that don’t carry on in the right way for me, but Foals have done it and shown everyone how to do it. Arctic Monkeys, too, but Foals are a little bit left of centre so that’s why I like it.”
You can watch the full video interview above.
Following his R&L ’23 sets, Bakar embarked on a UK and European headline tour last November. The trek included a performance at the Eventim Apollo in Hammersmith, west London.
