Beabadoobee shares euphoric new single ‘Ever Seen’
Beabadoobee has dropped her euphoric new single ‘Ever Seen’, the third release from her forthcoming studio album ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’.
The new single ‘Ever Seen’ was written by Beabadoobee while she was on the road with Taylor Swift for The Eras Tour last summer.
On Bea’s first night opening for The Eras Tour in 2023, Swift played an acoustic rendition of ‘Our Song’, which Bea had previously praised in an interview.
While it is said to have originally been intended as a country track, the London singer said the euphoric crescendo in ‘Ever Seen’ represents the elation of coming up at Glastonbury. The track comes accompanied by a music video shot in Japan by Jake Erland.
‘Ever Seen’ is a whimsical indie-pop number fuelled by dreamy chords and melodic strings which sees Bea finally admit that someone has “the prettiest eyes she’s ever seen“.
‘Ever Seen’ follows love track ‘Coming Home‘ and pensive single ‘Take A Bite‘, also from the upcoming album. ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves‘ is scheduled for release on August 16 via Dirty Hit.
‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ signifies a change in her life, as she shared that it is a coming-of-age marker as she journies into womanhood.
“I love this album,” Beabadoobee said. “I feel like it’s helped me so much more than anything else has in navigating this new era, this new understanding of where I’m at. I guess it’s about becoming a woman. I think I’m more aware of my actions in these songs.
“In my previous records, I would consistently sing about my reaction towards other people’s doings, like a blame game. But in this record, it’s accepting that there’s an inevitability of my fault in there too. Whether it’s childhood trauma or relationship issues, it takes two to tango in everything.”
The album will feature 14 tracks that are said to “capture her confidence and introspection gained in the time between ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ and her 2022 album ‘Beatopia‘”
The ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’ tracklist is:
‘Take A Bite’
‘California’‘One Time’
‘Real Man’
‘Tie My Shoes’
‘Girl Song’
‘Coming Home’
‘Ever Seen’‘A Cruel Affair’
‘Post’
‘Beaches’
‘Everything I Want’
‘The Man Who Left Too Soon’
‘This Is How It Went’

In 2022, ahead of the release of ‘Beatopia’, NME spoke to Bea about collaborating with The 1975’s Matty Healy, her creative process, and the studio where the album was written. “It was literally a studio that looked like a crack den,” she said.
“I remember I did a livestream where I was like, ‘This is where I’m recording my album’, and then everyone was like, ‘What the fuck?’ The carpet was mouldy and falling apart, there were no windows. It stank of weed constantly because I was the biggest stoner of my life making ‘Beatopia’. I had a moment where I was like, ‘Is this album even good?’”
Speaking to NME last year about touring with Taylor Swift, which is when she wrote ‘Ever Seen’, Beabadoobee said: “I’ve had conversations with [Swift] before where she’s mentioned that she’s a fan of my music, which absolutely boggles my mind. At the NME Awards 2020 I was trying to pluck up the courage to go up to her, and then she comes up to me and says that she really loves my EP. I’m just like, ‘Oh my God, what the hell?’ She’s awesome, and she’s always been an inspiration. I used to listen to her a lot – and I still do! – during my formative years.”
“I’m really grateful for the opportunity to play massive gigs like that,” she added.
