The announcement comes after it was reported earlier this year that Isaac and Mulligan could be teaming up in the series.
Jake Gyllenhaal, Anne Hathaway and Spaeny were also rumoured after it was announced that a second season might be on the cards but so far only the latter has come to fruition.
It marks another reunion for Isaac and Mulligan after they starred alongside Ryan Gosling and Bryan Cranston in the 2011 action thriller film Drive, as well as the 2013 biopic, Inside Llewyn Davis.
The reunion comes after a busy year for Mulligan, who played the eccentric friend of Rosamund Pike’s character in Saltburn, earned an Oscar nomination for her portrayal as Felicia Montealegre, wife of Leonard Bernstein, in Bradley Cooper’s Maestro, and starred opposite Adam Sandler in the Netflix sci-fi movie Spaceman.
Isaac, whose past projects include Denis Villeneuve’s Dune, the Star Wars sequel trilogy and playing the eponymous role in Inside Llewyn Davis, is currently shooting Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, in which he plays Doctor Frankenstein.
