Benson Boone’s ‘Beautiful Things’ Bags Second Week at No. 1 In U.K.
It’s another beautiful week for Benson Boone, as the U.S. singer and songwriter enters a second week at the chart summit with “Beautiful Things”.
The 21-year-old Monroe, Washington native had the most-streamed song in the U.K., as “Beautiful Things” (via Warner Records) clocked up 5.4 million plays over the seven-day chart cycle.
The leader at the midweek point, “Beautiful Things” holds off Teddy Swims’ “Lose Control” (Atlantic), up 4-2 to its equal peak position, and Beyonce’s “Texas Hold ‘Em” (Columbia/Parkwood Entertainment) unchanged at No. 3.
The highest new entry on the latest Official U.K. Singles Chart, published Friday, March 29, belongs to Future and Metro Boomin‘s “Like That” (Epic/Freebandz) new at No. 6. That’s Future’s third and Metro Boomin’s second U.K. top 10 single. “Like That” is one of three songs from the hip-hop stars’ collaborative album We Don’t Trust You to impact the top 40 — with “Type S**t “ new at No. 18 and “Cinderella” at No. 20 (both of which feature Travis Scott).
Meanwhile, Irish singer-songwriter Hozier snags his first top 10 single in 10 years, with “Too Sweet” (Island), new at No. 8. Hozier previously cracked the top 10 back in 2014 with his breakthrough hit “Take Me To Church,” peaking at No. 3.
Olivia Rodrigo nabs her eighth U.K. top 10 single with “Obsessed,” lifted from the deluxe “Spilled” edition of GUTS. Bowing at No. 10, “Obsessed” (Geffen) is one of four “secret” tracks on the collection that appeared on a variety of vinyl releases, the others being “Scared of My Guitar,” “Stranger” and “Girl I’ve Always Been.” The new song on the “Spilled” edition is “So American,” which debuts at No. 24 for Rodrigo’s 13th U.K. top 40.
Finally, British-Cypriot producer and artist Artemas (real name: Artemas Diamandis) earns his U.K. top 40 debut with “i like the way you kiss me” (Parlophone), new at No. 13.
