Beyoncé has postponed her planned announcement for today (January 14) due to the ongoing wildfires in Los Angeles.

The singer teased that she was due to share some major news this month via a cryptic video clip, following her NFL Christmas Day Halftime Show.

This led fans to speculate about a potential live tour in support of ‘Cowboy Carter’, or the possible release of ‘Act III’ in her ‘Renaissance’ trilogy. The tour rumours were bolstered when Live Nation posted the promo visuals on its social media channels.

In a statement online, Beyoncé has now confirmed that the announcement has been delayed as California continues to battle wildfires, while expressing her solidarity with those who have been affected.

“The January 14th announcement will be postponed to a later date due to the devastation caused by the ongoing wildfires around areas of Los Angeles,” the pop star wrote.

“I continue to pray for healing and rebuilding for the families suffering from trauma and loss. We are so blessed to have brave first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect the Los Angeles community.”

She then directed fans to support wildfire relief efforts via her non-profit organisation BeyGOOD. You can see the statement in the post above.

The update comes after Beyoncé donated $2.5million to the wildfire relief fund in LA through BeyGOOD.

“Los Angeles we stand with you,” the organisation wrote. “BeyGOOD is taking action by announcing the LA Fire Relief Fund with a donation of 2.5million dollars.

“The fund is earmarked to aid families in the Altadena/Pasadena area who lost their homes, and to churches and community centers to address the immediate needs of those affected by the wildfires.”

Last week, Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles revealed that her Malibu bungalow had been destroyed in the fires. “It was my favourite place, my sanctuary, my sacred Happy Place. Now it is gone!!,” she wrote.

In other news, The Weeknd has pushed back his new album ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ “out of respect and concern for the people of Los Angeles county”.

Elsewhere, Nine Inch Nails have “paused” an announcement about their forthcoming 2025 tour “while people try to deal with all that is happening”. Metallica have also donated $500,000 to relief efforts for the LA wildfires.

According to BBC News, at least 24 people have died in the fires and 23 others are missing. More than 90,000 are reportedly under evacuation orders. The California Department of Forestry And Fire Protection (CAL Fire) said there were four “active incidents” across the city of LA.
