BIBI gets vindictive in music video for ‘BIBI Vengeance’
Singer-songwriter BIBI has released the music video for ‘BIBI Vengeance’, the title track of her debut studio record ‘Lowlife Princess: Noir’.
The new visual opens with BIBI attending a funeral, seeming happy as she pays her last respects. The video later cuts to scenes of her getting revenge on all of the men that have disrespected her by torturing and later killing them. The music video sees BIBI accompanied by dance crew HOOK of Street Woman Fighter fame.
“It doesn’t matter what you did what you say what you regret / I forgave you for breaking me down and treading on me / Too bad you lost your last chance / I’ve been waiting and anticipating, to be a bad bitch,” BIBI declares in the bridge.
‘BIBI Vengeance’ is a cut from ‘Lowlife Princess: Noir’, which was released at the same time as the music video for the song. The record marks the singer’s first full-length effort, following mini-albums ‘The Manual For People Who Want To Love’ and ‘Life Is A Bi…’, which were released in 2019 and 2021 respectively.
In an interview with Twitch streamer Joo Ho-min, BIBI revealed that the narrative for ‘Lowlife Princess: Noir’ revolves around a figure named Oh Geum-ji, inspired by the character Lee Geum-ja from 2005 revenge-thriller Lady Vengeance, directed by famed film director Park Chan-wook.
Oh Geum-ji was later introduced in the music video for ‘Animal Farm’, one of the tracks released ahead of the album. Apart from the album, BIBI is also set to publish a webtoon building on the lore behind her album “some time around November 18”.
Apart from the release of her first full-length record, BIBI is also set to team up with Hyolyn for a special performance at the 2022 MAMA Awards, which are set to take place on November 29 and 30.
