Billie Eilish hints at imminent new music with video teaser
Billie Eilish has previewed the arrival of brand new music with a teaser video shared to social media.
The artist has been building anticipation for a new drop in recent days, including hinting at a possible new album by adding all her followers to her ‘Close Friends’ Story on Instagram.
On that Story she shared an image of a single door half-open along with some mid-air droplets, which fans think could be new album cover art.
It came after a series of billboards appeared to tease Eilish’s forthcoming new album in major cities across the world.
Her latest clue arrives today (April 8) in a video clip featuring the singer sinking in a murky body of water, before a hand emerges from out of frame to pull her out.
The clip features a heartbeat sound before the entrance of an electronic keyboard tune and vocalising from the singer.
The clip is simply captioned: “READY?”

A series of other teasers came on her ‘Close Friends’ Instagram Story. Late yesterday (April 7), the singer wrote: “I’m telling you something tomorrow.”
It was followed by a selfie of her with the words : “I promise.”
Eilish also added a series of reactions to her ‘Close Friends’ story, including one which read: “I’m about to become the most annoying person ever when this album drops.”
Another previous teaser on her story were the words ‘Hit Me’, which appears to be a single name.

As for the mysterious new Billboards, Eilish’s team used a similar tactic in 2021 to tease the release of her second full-length album, ‘Happier Than Ever’.
Back in February, Eilish revealed that her forthcoming third album is mastered, signifying that it is complete. Before that, she also confirmed the album was “almost done,” and that fans will know more “at some point.”
Last year, the pop singer opened up about what had changed in the creative process while working on her third album.
“Everything is different about it,” she said of the music making process while appearing as a guest on Dua Lipa‘s At Your Service podcast. “I’ve been trying to compare recently, just because I’m getting used to doing it in a different way. And trying to be like, ‘It’s OK to do that. I’m OK. I’m still able to do that; I’m capable still.’”
