Billie Eilish Unveils Club-Ready Extended Cut of ‘L’Amour de Ma Vie’: Stream It Now
Billie Eilish is giving the people exactly what they want. Following the release of her new album Hit Me Hard and Soft, the 22-year-old pop star dropped an extended cut of the second half of standout track “L’Amour de Ma Vie” Wednesday (May 22), and it’s perfect for nights out on the town.
Between the two options, “L’Amour de Ma Vie (Over Now Extended Edit)” hits more hard than soft in comparison to the original. Produced by Finneas, the new version completely cuts out the gentler first half of “L’Amour de Ma Vie” and skips right to the feverish second half, adding an extra several minutes of programmed drums and electronic flourishes.
“MADE AN EXTENDED EDIT FOR YOU TO DANCE IN THE CLURBBBBBBB TO!!! WEEEEEEEE!!!” the star wrote on Instagram following the track’s release. “‘L’AMOUR DE MA VIE [OVER NOW EXTENDED EDIT]’ OUT RIGHT NOWWWWW HEHEHEEEE🪩💥💃🎲🔆🍭⚡️☄️🫣”
Eilish also shared the remix’s cover art, a close-up photo of the nine-time Grammy winner showing off two silver teeth with trippy multicolored contacts in her eyes.
The addition comes just five days after Hit Me Hard and Soft arrived on streaming services May 17. On the day of the album’s release, Eilish shared a ’90s-inspired music video for lead single “Lunch.”
“It’s like the first time since I’ve been an adult and maybe ever in my kind of creative life … it truly is the most genuine thing I’ve ever made,” she told Stephen Colbert of the project during her May 21 Late Show interview. “It feels very, very me and it feels like all of the music is exactly who I am, all the visuals are exactly who I am and that’s honestly terrifying.”
