Billie Eilish’s “What Was I Made For?” soars in at No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Alternative Songs chart dated July 29 following its first full week of streaming, sales and airplay.

The song was released July 13 and accumulated 1.6 million streams, 989,000 impressions and 2,000 in sales that day.
Eilish adds her third No. 1 on Hot Alternative Songs, which began in 2020. She first led with “My Future” in 2020 and followed with “Happier Than Ever” in 2021.
She also tops Alternative Streaming Songs, scoring her record-extending seventh leader since the list’s 2020 inception. That’s the most of anyone by far; only Taylor Swift, with two No. 1s, also has more than one.
Hot Rock & Alternative Songs finds “What Was I Made For?” leaping 35-3, Eilish’s best rank since “Happier Than Ever” led for four weeks.
On the all-genre Billboard Hot 100, “What Was I Made For?” debuts at No. 34. It’s Eilish’s 14th title to hit the top 40, and the ninth to begin in the region.
“What Was I Made For?” also enters the all-genre Streaming Songs chart at No. 18.
The song, which is now being promoted to radio, is on the soundtrack to Barbie, which premiered in theaters July 21. Barbie: The Album also features music from Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice, Fifty Fifty, Karol G, Ava Max, Sam Smith and more.
