Billie Joe Armstrong and Channing Tatum spotted at Wrexham game
Channing Tatum and Green Day‘s Billie Joe Armstrong were in the stands at Wrexham’s match against Cambridge United earlier today (December 14).
The club has been of considerable interest since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney bought it in 2021, which has also boosted its performance in the football league and inspired the Disney+ series Welcome To Wrexham. It’s often had celebrities come to watch its games, with the likes of Paul Rudd, Will Ferrell and Hugh Jackman all paying visits to the Racecourse Ground recently.
Tatum and Armstrong saw the team finish in a last-minute 2-2 draw with Cambridge United.
It has also been reported that Reynolds and Tatum visited local pub The Fat Boar last night (December 13), buying local patrons a drink and posing for photos.
Great to see you, @VancityReynolds and @channingtatum

Armstrong has previously professed his love of lower-league football and made a habit of going to watch games when Green Day were in the UK making their latest album âSaviorsâ.
âI went to a lot of football games: Arsenal, Leyton Orient, Fulham. I went to The Den to see Millwall. That was amazing. Man, if you really want to experience British culture thatâs what you should do,â he said last year.
He continued: âFootball is like a fucking religion. Itâs like being at a big rock concert. You practically need earplugs! Iâve always wanted to check out all the different divisions, not just the world-class teams like Arsenal and Man City. I wanted to go to some of the lower-league games â especially Millwall, which has that gritty, pissed off, underdog, âno one likes us and we donât careâ vibe. It reminds me of being an Oakland Raiders fan.â
In other news, last month Green Dayâs performance of âAmerican Idiotâ on a 2004 episode of âŠLetterman was re-uploaded to YouTube following Donald Trumpâs victory in the US presidential election.
