Billy Joel has announced new UK live shows – marking his only European tour dates for 2025. Find ticket details below.

Announced today (September 30), the concerts will see the iconic singer-songwriter return to the UK for two exclusive performances.

The first of which will be taking place at Edinburgh’s Scottish Gas Murrayfield on June 7, marking his first time playing in the city for 46 years. The second is scheduled for June 21, when Joel will head to Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium to perform his first gig in the city for 45 years.

So far, these are the only European performances that the New York artist has scheduled for next year, and tickets go on sale this Friday (October 4) at 10am BST. You can buy tickets here.

Billy Joel’s 2025 European tour dates are:

JUNE
7 – Edinburgh, Scottish Gas Murrayfield
21 – Liverpool, Anfield Stadium

The two exclusive UK shows come just days after the ‘Piano Man’ took to social media to announce a string of new tour dates across the United States in 2025 with support from Sting and Stevie Nicks.

Kicking off at the start of the New Year, the run of shows begins with an opening gig in Florida on January 17, and is followed by shows in Indiana, Michigan, New York, North Carolina and many more across the first half of 2025. Visit here for tickets to the US shows.

Back in February, Joel opened up about why it took him nearly two decades to release his latest single, ‘Turn The Lights Back On’. Speaking with his co-writer Freddy Wexler, Joel said that he had fallen out of love with writing new music, adding that he did not find it “fun” for the better part of two decades.

Joel said to Wexler: “It was fun. Music is fun. Rock n’ roll was fun. It was all about having fun – and I kind of lost that and I turned the lights off because it wasn’t fun anymore.”

The ‘Uptown Girl’ singer released ‘Turn The Lights Back On’ on February 1, marking his first new release in 17 years. The track serves as a love letter to fans who have waited for him to release new music, as well as self-reflection for the singer, who asks himself if he had waited this long to return.

In July, Joel played his historic 150th – and last – show as part of his Madison Square Garden residency, bringing out Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose to perform a number of songs. He had been playing one show at the iconic venue every month since January 2014.
