BLACKPINK’s Jennie calls new single ‘Mantra’ an “anthem that celebrates girl power”
BLACKPINK singer Jennie has teased more about her upcoming solo single ‘Mantra’ and the message behind it.
Earlier this week, BLACKPINK’s Jennie made an appearance at the Chanel spring 2025 show at Paris Fashion Week. While there, the singer spoke to Vogue about her upcoming single ‘Mantra’, which comes out next week. The song will notably be her first solo release under her self-founded label Odd Atelier and her partnership with Columbia Records.
“It’s something my fans and I have really been looking forward to,” she said. “I’ll be focusing on creating opportunities for us to connect and communicate, allowing us to share special experiences together and interact with fans from all over the world.”
Jennie also spoke about the message behind ‘Mantra’, describing it as “a fun, upbeat anthem that celebrates girl power and inspires every woman to shine in her own way with confidence”.
In another interview at the event with WWD, she shared that the new single also inspired the blonde hair she sported at the fashion show. “I can’t share too much just yet, but maybe this new look can do [sic] a little bit of a teaser,” said Jennie.
In other BLACKPINK news, vocalist Rosé has also announced her upcoming debut solo album titled ‘Rosie’, which will release on December 6. “Rosie – is the name I allow my friends and family to call me. With this album, I hope you all feel that much closer to me,” said the BLACKPINK member.
Elsewhere in K-pop, boyband SEVENTEEN have teased a collaboration with DJ Khaled on their upcoming single ‘Love, Money, Fame’. The track will lead their 12th mini-album ‘Spill The Feels’, which arrives later this month.
