BLACKPINK’s Lisa becomes Louis Vuitton’s newest brand ambassador
Luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton has named BLACKPINK singer Lisa as its latest brand ambassador.
Louis Vuitton announced BLACKPINK’s Lisa’s appointment as a brand ambassador today (July 23) in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily. Notably, the K-pop star had previously worked with fellow LVMH-owned brand Celine until last month, when she stepped down as a global ambassador.
Speaking of her appointment, the brand said that Lisa’s “achievements speak to values at the core of Louis Vuitton – a passion for creativity combined with a commitment to excellence in one’s craft”. It added that the K-pop star also “sets trends and approaches her craft with fearless authenticity”.
Meanwhile, Lisa praised Louis Vuitton women’s creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, saying that his “identity is strongly reflected in the designs that he creates and that is what makes Louis Vuitton pieces so special”.
Ghesquière similarly compliment Lisa for her “daring spirit and charisma”, which he called “incredibly compelling”. He added that the Thai singer is “as bold and creative with her music as she is with her fashion, and it is a privilege to accompany her on this journey”.
Lisa also spoke to ELLE about her new ambassadorship with Louis Vuitton, saying that she “feel[s] so honoured to be working with such a great brand that I admire” and is “really looking forward to making greater moments with Louis Vuitton”.
“Throughout the many years, Louis Vuitton has always maintained their originality, and their iconic monogram is such a historic piece that is popular until this day, so I aim to be someone who can maintain originality,” she added.
Aside from Lisa, other K-pop celebrities who are also affiliated with Louis Vuitton include SM Entertainment boyband RIIZE, BTS rapper J-hope and Source Music girl group LE SSERAFIM, among others.
