BLACKPINK’s Lisa opens up about stalker fans: “I was scared to be alone”
BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has recently opened up about her encounter with stalker fans, calling the experience “terrifying”.
BLACKPINK’s Lisa recently appeared on the Thai radio talk show WOODY FM, where she opened up about her experiences with stalker fans. “I’ve never shared this before. Last year, it was the first time I actually experienced it myself,” she said. “I’ve heard a lot about it from other idol friends, mostly from male idols. But it just happened to me.”
“Usually, when my flight lands in South Korea, fans will be there waiting at the airport. That’s normal, and I appreciate that they come. But when I got home, I saw them waiting,” she recalled. The singer also added how she was “alone” at her house and how the walls around her home “aren’t that high”.
“So I told that person, ‘I’m really not comfortable with this. If you want to see me, let’s meet somewhere public. Showing up like this at my house, I feel uncomfortable’,” she said.
Lisa also added that the same person would come to her home at night, which caused her to be too “scared to go outside”. “That’s when I really started to worry, because I was completely alone,” she said. “There was no one with me.”
The ‘Rockstar’ singer also recalled a separate incident that she said “really terrified” her. “I was leaving my house to take a taxi to a dance rehearsal, but my manager couldn’t come to pick me up. So I thought it’s just a rehearsal, I could go there and get back home myself,” she explained. “But then that person tried to get into my taxi by sticking their leg between the taxi door.”
“To be honest, I didn’t know how I should feel. But I did feel like I was scared to be alone. I felt unsafe, even though Love, my dog, would bark. There was a period of time when I asked my female manager to accompany me. It was terrifying for a 20-year-old girl who lived alone,” she admitted.
In other Lisa news, the BLACKPINK star is set to perform at the 2025 Oscars, which will take place this weekend on March 2. The singer will take to the stage with Doja Cat and RAYE, but it’s been confirmed that the trio will not be performing their recent collaboration ‘Born Again’.
