Many know the classic 1999 film Fight Club, but imagine if it were run by women instead. Bottoms is the 2023 comedy version of just that, starring Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri. If you missed out on its theater release, you have a few streaming options to watch the movie again or, for first-timers, from the comfort of your home.
The movie follows two queer, unpopular best friends who decide to start a high-school fight club for women in the name of self-defense and feminism. The reality? The two teens are just trying to lose their virginity to two of the most popular girls in school. What the friends don’t expect is their club gaining traction and the unwanted attention of the boys football team. As the two begin to lose control over the club, they have to figure out how to navigate the situation without their true intentions being revealed.
The movie was written by Sennott and Rachel Seligman (who also directs the film). Other cast members include Ruby Cruz, Kaia Gerber, Punkie Johnson, Marshawn Lynch, Havana Rose Liu, Miles Fowler and Dagmara Dominiczyk.
