Britney Spears Shares Throwback Photo With Taylor Swift From 20 Years Ago: ‘Most Iconic Pop Woman of Our Generation’

Britney Spears had a cool Taylor Swift throwback story — and picture — to share on Instagram Saturday night (Nov. 11).

While Swift was on stage in Buenos Aires, Spears posted a photograph of the two of them together back in 2003, when Swift would’ve been only 13 or 14 years old, as well as one of the pair five years later, at the MTV Video Music Awards in 2008.

“This is way back when but kinda cool … During my Oops Tour, I got a knock at my door,” Spears wrote in a message on Instagram. “My good friend at the time was the assistant to my manager who was trying to become a manager himself. There was a knock, and then he said, ‘I have a girl named Taylor who wants to come in and sing for you.’ I was like of course !!!”

She continued, “He walks in, and she sings a beautiful song with her guitar. I was like wow wow she’s unbelievable !!! We took a picture, and she then became the most iconic pop woman of our generation.”

After paying the compliment to Swift, Spears had more to say: “Kinda cool she plays stadiums, and I prefer her videos over movies any day. She’s stunning !!! Girl crush.”

Swift just released 1989 (Taylor’s Version), her latest re-recording to blast atop the Billboard 200 albums chart. Vault track “Is It Over Now?” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
