Bruce Willis’ daughter has shared an update on her father’s health, as the legendary actor turns 70.

As reported in the Express, Rumer, Bruce’s eldest daughter from his previous marriage to Demi Moore, shared some small details about her father’s health during a Q&A with fans on Instagram Stories, the day before his 70th birthday on March 19.

When asked how Bruce was doing, Rumer responded: “He’s doing great, thank you for asking. It is actually his 70th birthday tomorrow so please wish my papa a big happy birthday.”

Bruce is one of cinema’s biggest action stars, most known for his roles in the Die Hard franchise, Pulp Fiction, Unbreakable, The Sixth Sense and more.

He announced his retirement from acting in 2022 after receiving a diagnosis of aphasia. In 2023, his family released a statement confirming that his condition had progressed and Bruce had received a more specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia, known as FTD. An uncommon type of dementia, FTD causes problems with behaviour and language.

Moore, who was married to Bruce for 13 years until they divorced in 2000 and is still close with her ex-partner, shared an Instagram post in honour of the star’s 70th birthday.

The image carousel included some candid shots of Bruce at home with his daughters Rumer, Scout and Tallulah, and granddaughter Louetta, as well as one where he appears to be receiving treatment. In the caption, Moore wrote “Happy birthday, BW! We love you”.

Bruce’s daughters also shared their own social media posts marking their father’s birthday. Rumer posted a Reel on Instagram of Bruce and Moore having fun in the kitchen; Scout shared a carousel of old and new photos; and Tallulah posted an image of Bruce in Die Hard.

Bruce’s wife Emma Heming Willis also posted on Instagram, with the caption: “It’s Bruce’s birthday, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s that there’s no greater fan than a Bruce fan. So flood him with all the love today—he will feel it, I swear he will. You are one powerful bunch. I love how you rally for him, and I’m so grateful that he has you”.

Emma recently spoke out after the deaths of screen icon Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa, saying that “Caregivers need care, too”.
