BTS reunite to celebrate Jin’s discharge from military service
Members of BTS have reunited to celebrate member Jin’s official discharge from mandatory military service earlier today (June 12).
BTS singer Jin was discharged from active duty after completing his mandatory two years of military service this morning. His dismissal was attended by his bandmates – save for Suga – who are all currently still serving the South Korean military.
Photos and videos published by South Korean press show the six BTS members celebrating Jin’s dismissal together with Jin holding a bouquet of flowers. BTS leader RM was also seen playing an abridged version of the group’s hit song ‘Dynamite’ on the saxophone in celebration.

Suga was unable to visit Jin alongside the rest of BTS due to scheduling conflicts, however all seven BTS members would later have a private celebration at the HYBE headquarters in Seoul. The band posted a group photo in full strength on X (formerly Twitter), with the caption “[Jin has] returned!”.

Jin was the first member of BTS to enlist in the military as the band’s oldest member, having officially entered in December 2022. Later in April 2023, J-hope followed suit, while the rest of the members subsequently followed in the remaining months of 2023. The entire band are slated to complete military service and reconvene to resume group activities by 2025.
In light of Jin’s return from the military, Big Hit Music announced on June 2 plans for a special in-person event for this year’s ‘BTS FESTA’, an annual affair in celebration of their debut anniversary. It will mark his first public appearance in a little under two years.
Jin will be celebrating the group’s anniversary by greeting fans in person at Seoul’s Jamsil Arena tomorrow (June 13), where raffle winners will have the chance to share a “light hug” or a handshake with the idol. Jin will also host a special showcase to be streamed live on fan community platform Weverse for official ARMY membership holders that same evening.
