‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 6’ zombies mode “most-rewarding” ever
The upcoming zombie mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is promised to be the “most-rewarding Round-Based experience Treyarch has ever made.”
The game mode will involve you and up to three other players exploring Terminus Island as you complete objectives and try to escape. There are two currencies for you to employ to help you against the hordes: Essence and Salvage.
You’ll use Essence to clear blocked routes and access more of the Terminus Island map. Essence is what you’ll spend on perks and upgrading your weapons at the pack-a-punch machine.
You’ll also use Essence to activate objectives, unlock doors, summon a boat that you can use to race around the surf, buy more ammo and new weapons, buy armour, and start a special Trial.
Salvage is used to upgrade the rarity of your weapons, give them elemental powers, and build tactical, lethal, and support equipment.
Terminus Island is “one of the largest Round-Based Zombies maps ever created,” so you’d better use that tactical raft to explore the smaller surrounding islands. There will be plenty of side quests and Easter Eggs for you to find while you explore.
For people who are newer to the Zombies experience or just want a more relaxed playthrough, a guided mode will be launching after a each map’s grace period “to protect the sanctity of the traditional ‘Easter Egg hunt.’
“In this mode, players will receive focused guidance through the Main Quest with rounds capped to certain stages of their quest progression. All Side Quests and other Easter Eggs will be disabled to ensure experiencing the narrative is the singular priority. ”
There’s a lot more information to unpack, and you can read the full notes right here.
In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 should still be coming in autumn 2025, according to publisher Take-Two.
