‘Call Of Duty’ fans split over new ‘Black Ops 6’ animal outfits: “Who the fuck is buying this?”
Call Of Duty fans are annoyed that Black Ops 6 is already introducing animal outfits to the game.
Black Ops 6 launched last month with developers trying to make the first-person shooter as realistic as possible. Composer Jack Walls listened to a lot of early ‘90s music for the score, level designers watched a whole lot of action movies from that era and the whole thing is inspired by real world events that were taking place at the end of the first Gulf War.
Developers even recruited former British Special Forces Soldiers to make sure a charity skin was as authentic as it could be. However a number of rewards that will be included as part of Black Ops 6’s season one go against that sense of realism.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 season one goes live tomorrow (November 14) and includes a reworked battle pass alongside new operators, maps and weapons. The full list of additions can be found here but a number of premium skins have also been announced including “Raccoon Goon” and “Bloke Biter”, which will turn your highly trained soldier into a giant raccoon or shark. Some fans are not happy about the additions.
“Pack it up boys, one season in and we’ve already got the animal skins,” reads one Reddit thread. There’s an argument for sustaining the art style, especially when they are making these period games that have distinct aesthetics. Why set it in the ‘90s if you’re just gonna be a shark,” replied one fan.
So COD can bring in some shark man a raccoon furry and a dude made of lava but can’t give me the fucking RAPS from Black Ops 3 back because it’s not period correct, got it, makes sense, good shit https://t.co/fRJiW8lf1d

However others are fine with the animal skins, if it means new maps are released for free. “I’ll take cosmetic microtransactions if it means more free post-release content,” explained one player. “So much free content I’m willing to let a raccoon take me hostage,” said another. “Who cares. It is an arcade shooter. Anytime you can slide around on your booty grease with a sniper and ‘quick scope’…..realism has already left the building. So if you wanna cosplay as a furry, do you,” wrote a third.
Black Ops 6 is the first Call Of Duty game to be a Day One release on Xbox Game Pass, which helped the title have the “biggest ever launch” for a COD game. Black Ops 6 “set a record for day one players, as well as Game Pass subscriber adds on launch day. And unit sales on PlayStation and Steam were also up over 60 per cent year-over-year,” claimed Microsoft.
