The former Fifth Harmony member spoke about allegations made against the Canadian rapper, who has been engaged in a public feud with Kendrick Lamar.
The pair have recently exchanged blows in a series of disses, with Lamar claiming Drake is a “certified paedophile” and Drake taking shots at Lamar’s partner: “You the black messiah wifing up a mixed queen”.
Now, Cabello has commented on the feud, having recently teamed up with Drake on her new album ‘C,XOXO’ where he features on two songs.
She told The Times that Drake is “such a delight”, adding: “It’s so frustrating to see people talk about someone you know in a way that is negative.
“You’re like, ‘Dang, if only you guys could just have dinner or something.’”
The singer also opened up about how she snagged Drake as a collaborator, recalling that she slid into his DMs without expecting him to reply. “It’s like a weird teenage thing where I feel that nobody cares about me or likes me,” she continued. “And it was fun to be proven wrong.”
In our three-star review of ‘C,XOXO’, NME wrote: “Still, whether you think Cabello is “that girl” or not, there’s no denying that ‘C,XOXO’ is packed with quirky earworms: she even blends emo and reggaeton on the brilliant, melancholy club banger ‘Pretty When I Cry’.
“Some of 2024’s most anticipated pop albums have sunk pretty fast after hyped roll-outs; this one deserves to keep bubbling to the surface for months to come.”
In other news, Camila Cabello has shared the advice Taylor Swift gave her when they met.
