The 32-year-old rapper and singer was set to appear as the headliner for One MusicFest in Atlanta, Georgia this weekend. The event will be held in Piedmont Park, and runs between Saturday October 26 and Sunday October 27.
Taking to X/Twitter yesterday (October 23), Cardi confirmed that she would be pulling out of the festival abruptly due to medical issues.
“I am so sad to share this news, but I’ve been in the hospital recovering from a medical emergency the last couple of days and I won’t be able to perform at One MusicFest,” she wrote in a statement. “It breaks my heart that I won’t get to see my fans this weekend and I really wish I could be there.”
“Bardi Gang – thank you for understanding and I’ll be back better and stronger soon. Don’t worry,” she added.

Following the update, One MusicFest organisers have also shared an update with ticketholders, revealing that they are “working hard to find a replacement at this late date,” and will be sharing further updates with fans soon.
Also on the bill for the 2024 edition of the Georgia festival are Nelly, Fantasia and Earth, Wind & Fire.
This isn’t the first time that Cardi has opened up about undergoing health concerns. Back in August, the rapper opened up to fans about a “freak accident” she had, which left her temporarily paralysed and almost caused miscarriage.
She didn’t confirm what the specific diagnosis was but did say it was rare and led to her being temporarily paralysed. “It doesn’t really happen often, but it became so big to the point I was literally paralysed. And that little thing almost cost me my little one to come. But it didn’t. Yesterday I was feeling good. I came home, but I came home high as a kite.”
Elsewhere, Cardi has become increasingly outspoken against Donald Trump in the US presidential race in recent months, criticising the former US president and current Republican candidate for promising police immunity.
She also recently reminded fans that she endorsed Kamala Harris long before Joe Biden withdrew from the race, and is among those leading the way for the 2024 BET Hip-hop Awards.
