The deal includes such hits as "Buy Dirt," "What My World Spins Around" and "Next Thing You Know."
The company also acquired additional publishing interests in some of Timbaland's back catalog, including cuts with Justin Timberlake and Jay-Z.
Jason Klein took over as interim CEO following Murphy's departure.
