"There is no such thing as best in music," the star said of his win. "I don't think any of us sit in the studio making decisions based on what's gonna get us one of these. "
Lacy was accompanied by acclaimed bassist Thundercat for his first-ever performance at the awards.
The track was released as the third single from his 2022 album, Growin' Up.
"He’s been nothing but humble and gracious and loving to me the whole time," she said after winning best pop solo performance.
Busta Rhymes, Salt-N-Pepa, Queen Latifah and more delivered an all-encompassing set.
The pair won the award for best pop duo/group performance, making Petras the first transgender artist to take home the trophy.
The performance is Quavo's first since the death of his bandmate and nephew Takeoff, who was fatally shot in November.
