The Mexican hitmaker leads with 13 nominations. Camilo, Karol G, Keityn and Shakira follow with seven each.
With the debut of its best songwriter of the year category, these are the hitmakers to keep an eye on.
"I am extremely honored," the Italian singer said.
In its first edition outside the U.S., the ceremony will be in Seville, Spain.
Sources confirm the award will move out of the U.S. for the first time, and will likely take place in Sevilla.
