SM Entertainment confirmed the singer's departure in a statement.
"I see her as sort of my musical and songwriting granddaughter," King said of Swift.
"It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when young girls are able to see themselves in the person who holds the highest office in the land," she wrote.
The first of a series of Zoom calls will take place on Tuesday night (Aug. 27) at 7 p.m. ET.
