Moss was inducted with Herb Alpert into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.
"The joy of his legacy eases the sorrow of our loss," his family said.
The show, which opened in 1960, was awarded Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre in 1991.
The legendary guitarist, songwriter and fixture in movie music died on August 9 after a long illness.

Meisner died Wednesday night due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, according to a statement from the band.
