The latest report from the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative found that women and people of color still struggle to climb the executive ladder.
"For those interested in seeing change in the music industry, this is not a sign of progress,” said the report's author, Dr. Stacy L. Smith.
The percentage of women artists on the Billboard Hot 100 Year-End Charts reached 35% in 2023, a 12-year high, according to a USC Annenberg study.
Though some gains have been made, the report's authors conclude "there is still much work to be done."
