Central Cee teams up with RAYE for UK garage-inspired new single ‘Moi’
Central Cee has teamed up with RAYE on the UK garage-inspired new single ‘Moi’.
Produced by Einer Bankz, Harry Beech and Eight8, the track sees both artists sing and rap in snippets of French, with RAYE setting the tone in a soul-inspired opening: “I wonder why/There’s a stone cold breeze as I kiss him goodbye/Paris is the city of love, they say/But not for him and I.”
The Dan Prod produced video accompanying the track was filmed over several days across London and Paris, and features the ‘BAND4BAND’ rapper in a fleet of rose gold supercars.
‘Moi’ follows Central Cee’s surprise drop of ‘Billion Streams Freestyle’, made as a nod to reaching over a billion streams, and also ‘Bolide Noir’, which saw him team up with Parisian rapper JRK 19.
RAYE revealed she co-produced the track when announcing the song on Instagram, writing: “grateful to my friend @centralcee for having me Moi ft. me is now yours
“souviens-toi que même les bad b*tch pleurent co-produced by me too ;) p.s i hope you think my French is okay, i love the language and would like to try and sing more songs in French.”
It’s the latest in a string of collaborations for Central Cee, who this year has joined Peggy Gou onstage at her Gunnersbury Park show, teamed up with Ice Spice for ‘Did It First’, and appeared as a surprise guest at Nicki Minaj’s Co-Op Live gig in Manchester.
Meanwhile RAYE has also had a big year, teaming up with Laufey to cover ‘It Could Happen To You’ at Lollapalooza 2024, and joining Holly Humberstone, Suki Waterhouse, and Maisie Peters in being extra support acts on Taylor Swift‘s final Wembley ‘Eras’ shows.
The ‘Escapism.’ singer now joins a host of acts all rumoured to be playing Glastonbury 2025.
