Cher announces two-part memoir: “It is a life too immense for only one book”
Cher has announced that she will be releasing a two-part memoir which will reveal the “intimate” details of her life.
The first part of the music icon’s memoir is set for release on November 19 via HarperCollins, with the second part being released sometime next year. You can preorder Cher: The Memoir, Part One here.
A synopsis of the book reads: “With her trademark honesty and humour, Cher: The Memoir traces how this diamond in the rough succeeded with no plan and little confidence to become the trailblazing superstar the world has been unable to ignore for more than half a century.”

It continued: “Cher: The Memoir, Part One follows her extraordinary beginnings through childhood to meeting and marrying Sonny Bono – and reveals the highly complicated relationship that made them world-famous, but eventually drove them apart.
“Cher: The Memoir reveals the daughter, the sister, the wife, the lover, the mother and the superstar. It is a life too immense for only one book.”
A description from HarperCollins Publishers reads, “After more than seventy years of fighting to live her life on her own terms, Cher finally reveals her true story in intimate detail.”
Last year, the ‘Turn Back Time’ singer revealed that she was working on her memoir again after “totally chickening out” on the endeavour in the past.
While appearing as a guest on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, the icon said: “I just totally chickened out. I didn’t put in some things that needed to be put in. And they’re not comfortable, but they need to be put in so I have to go back and man up.”
She continued: “I’ve lived too long and done too much and so it’s like it should be the encyclopaedia.” She then joked with the audience: “Not that you guys know what that is.”
According to Music News, Cher had first announced her work on an autobiography back in 2018 and shared that it would come with a biopic.
In a separate interview on The Graham Norton Show at the end of last year, the singer revealed she was also struggling to make the biopic.
“It is the hardest thing,” she said. “I have lived too long and done so much, it is very hard to cast, and we haven’t even finished the script.”
