Chris Hemsworth Regrets Taking a Photo With This Oscar-Winning Singer for a Hilarious Reason
Chris Hemsworth is a music fan, just like the rest of us. So much so, that he once asked for a selfie with a major pop star.
The Avengers actor joined The Late Show With Stephen Colbert this week, where he answered a series of deep-dive questions to get to know him better. One of the first questions was his first concert, which was Powder Finger, a popular Australian rock band. “I had my brother’s ID and got into the pub they were playing at. I was 16,” Hemsworth explained, after some playful banter due to Colbert not recognizing the group.
Hemsworth was then asked if he’d ever asked for an autograph from someone, to which he first jokingly replied, “Powder Finger,” before revealing his real answer. “I got a photograph with Billie Eilish at the Oscars,” he recalled. “I remember thinking, ‘Ah, don’t do it. Don’t do it. But my kids are going to love this.’ The moment I took it, I went from work colleague to a fan and we’ll never be friends. Never be best friends.”
His last music-related question was revealing which song he’d listen to for the rest of his life: “More Than This” by English rock band Roxy Music.
While Hemsworth didn’t specify which Oscars ceremony the Eilish selfie occurred, the 23-year-old “Bad Guy” singer is a two-time Academy Award winner. She and her brother Finneas took home the best original song award in 2022 and 2024, for “No Time to Die” from the 007 film of the same name and “What Was I Made For?” from Barbie, respectively.
