This past weekend (August 17), Coal Chamber took to social media to announce that their ‘Fiend For The Fans’ tour with Fear Factory, Twizted and Black Satellite had been rescheduled for Spring 2025. The announcement came just a week before the tour was due to kick off on August 23 at the House of Blues in Las Vegas.
Per their statement, Coal Chamber frontman Dez Fafara revealed that he had undergone a medical emergency, and was being urged to postpone the tour. He wrote that he had been feeling good and had been training well for the tour after “long haul COVID tried to kill me”. However, things took a turn for the worse, and the singer is now no longer about to make the August tour.
He wrote: “Saturday morning I woke up and I was coming up my stairs. I saw flashes in my eyes. I passed out and my wife revived me. My vitals were through the roof, and I was sheet white and vomiting and the whole world was spinning. Anahstasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and did nine hours in the ER testing all my vitals including taking X-rays of my heart and lungs. My doctor has advised me to get a cat scan, and until further testing, I am on bedrest and must postpone the tour. Our agent spring into action to rebook this tour to March 2025, and until we can figure out what the fuck medically is happening.”
He then announced the tour’s rescheduled dates before thanking his fans, family and friends and bandmates for their understanding. He wrote before signing off: “Kiss your loved ones, no one is promised tomorrow. I’ll fight my way back to be with you all onstage, you can be sure of that as well – I’ll keep you all updated on my socials as to what’s going on. Apologies if this news causes you to rearrange your scheduled to attend the concert with us and I want to say thank you in advance. We are all truly in the dark and I’m looking forward to finding out what’s going on.

Coal Chamber formed in 1992 and first split up in July 2002. They later reunited in 2011, and split again in 2018, with Fafara saying they were “done forever”. However, after being diagnosed with long COVID and a fear of dying from the virus, Fafara and his wife reached out to the rest of the former Coal Chamber members, and they reunited in November 2022. The band have yet to release any music since 2015, but are “considering” making new music together.
