Dave Grohl has joined Charli XCX‘s viral ‘Apple’ dance trend – check it out below.
Since TikToker Kelley Heyer created choreography to the track in June, the song has been taking over social media and is becoming one of the album’s bigger streaming hits – celebrities including Joe Jonas, Stephen Colbert, Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones and even Charli XCX herself have joined in on the fun so far.
Now, the Foo Fighters frontman and former Nirvana drummer has been filmed dancing along to the trend with his daughter Harper, who shared it on her TikTok account. In the video, Grohl is seen sitting, while Harper stands. They dance along to the track, though Dave is a touch behind his daughter, he does his best to keep up with a smile on his face.

Charli xcx released her highly-anticipated sixth studio album, ‘Brat’ last month. In a four-star review, NME said the record is one where the polymath “fully commits to the dancefloor” and proves “that going her own way will always sound pretty good”.
The album’s lime green artwork became a meme and the term “Brat Summer” soon went viral. Paired with ‘Brat”s themes of hedonism and rebellion, the social trend encouraged people to have fun and be free, similar to Megan Thee Stallion‘s 2019 ‘Hot Girl Summer’ movement.
The British pop star also did many ‘PARTYGIRL’ DJ sets – including her recent Boiler Room takeover in Ibiza and her special Glastonbury performance on The Levels stage, where she invited Robyn and The xx’s Romy out with her. She even endorsed presidential candidate Kamala Harris ahead of the 2024 US election, stating that the current Vice President “IS brat”. Her tweet caused CNN‘s political journalists to attempt to describe what ‘Brat’ means.
Last week, XCX responded to outlets such as Pitchfork and Dazed saying “Brat summer” is over. In a caption, she alluded to dropping new music, writing: “oh? see u next week :)”.
To cap it all off, ‘Brat’ has made the shortlist of the 2024 Mercury Prize.
