‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ director says Henry Cavill was “sick to the stomach” after smoking cigars for cameo
Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy has revealed that Henry Cavill was “sick to the stomach” for “eight hours straight” after smoking cigars during his cameo.
The Man Of Steel star made a brief appearance in the movie as Wolverine variant “the Cavillrine” when Deadpool stumbles across him as he travels the multiverse seeking a version of Wolverine who will team up with him.
While most of the variants are played by longtime Wolverine star Hugh Jackman in the Marvel movie, one of them is also played by a cigar smoking Cavill.
“[He] not only had that pumped-up muscular body but kept that cigar lit and in his mouth for the entirety of the shoot day,” Levy told The New York Times.
I love the fact that Deadpool is literally talking shit to DC for what they’ve done to Henry Cavill’s Superman #DeadpoolAndWolverine

“I remember hearing the next day that Henry was sick to his stomach because he had been inhaling cigar smoke for eight hours straight, but never once did he waver.”
Levy also said they called on the star to make an appearance shortly after it was announced that Cavill would not be returning as Superman in James Gunn‘s DC universe in December 2022.
“It was not long after everything went down with DC and word came that Henry was being replaced as Superman,” Levy added.
“Given that Deadpool is in constant conversation with culture, it felt like a great opportunity to first of all cast Henry Cavill in a part that he would kick ass at, but also to poke fun at that other comic-book-founded movie studio and play with some self-awareness there.”
Along with Cavill, Chris Evans also made a cameo as Johnny Storm aka the Human Torch in the movie, a role he played in 2005’s Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise Of The Silver Surfer.
Chris Hemsworth also popped up as Thor in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo – where he shows up in a possible future scenario attending to a dying Deadpool.
