Demi Lovato Asked ChatGPT to Roast Her & It Did Not Hold Back

ChatGPT definitely did not give Demi Lovato‘s heart — or feelings — a break when the singer asked it to roast her recently.

In a hilarious video posted to Lovato’s TikTok, the Camp Rock alum sits with fiancé Jordan “Jutes” Lutes — the couple’s shared puppy, Pickle, sitting on his lap — and explains that they instructed the AI program to dish out its best insults against Lovato. The vocalist’s partner and longtime collaborator then proceeds to read the results out loud, and suffice to say, they were pretty brutal from start to finish.

“Roast Demi Lovato — Oh, you mean the artist formerly known as ‘confident,’ but now more like confused?” Jutes reads as Lovato smiles beside him. “Demi Lovato has had more rebrands than a failing fast-food chain. One minute they’re punk rock, the next, they’re singing pop ballads, and somewhere in between they’re beefing with a frozen yogurt store.”

The latter diss — which made Lovato laugh out loud — references the 2021 incident in which the artist called out The Bigg Chill in Los Angeles for allegedly marketing sugar-free cookies and “other diet foods” as “guilt free” treats, something the musician said at the time “not only enables but praises disordered eating.” The store clapped back by suggesting the products were actually tailored for vegans and people with Celiac disease, after which Lovato — following a little more back-and-forth — apologized for getting “emotional” and for getting “the messaging wrong” in their original callout.

Four years later, the debacle is clearly something Lovato can chuckle about, along with the rest of what ChatGPT had to say. “Like babes, pick a lane, or at least a consistent genre,” Jutes continued in the TikTok. “Your career path is giving ‘Threw darts at a vision board while blindfolded.'”

“Hey, credit where credit is due,” the roast concluded. “Demi’s voice is undeniable. If only their decision-making skills were as strong as their vocal cords.”

In response, Lovato found the silver lining in the insult. “So you think I’m a good singer?” she said, smiling coyly.

The “Cool for the Summer” artist has been active on TikTok lately. In one recent video, they recreated a viral trend inspired by Jasmine Richards’ Final Jam performance in the first Camp Rock movie, and in another clip, Lovato tries their hand at Doechii’s “Anxiety” dance trend.

Lovato hasn’t properly released a new studio album since 2022’s Holy Fvck, which reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200. In 2023, she dropped Revamped, an LP reimagining some of the star’s biggest pop hits as punk rock bangers.
