Discogs teams up with Record Store Day for International Post-Event Sale
Discogs has teamed up with Record Store Day for “Record Store Day Afters,” a post-event sale.
The event will kick off on April 22 – two days after Record Store Day on April 20 – and will feature Official international Record Store Day shops offering exclusive, limited-edition Record Store Day releases as a way to give a second chance to those who missed out on April 20.
The music release database will also be host to the centralized shopping network, which will allow fans to be able to buy from shops located all over the world, allowing them to get limited-edition, region-specific vinyl. The event will include official Record Store Day retailers in over 13 countries.
Along with the event, Discogs will also provide various Record Store Day-focused lists, guides, and more throughout the week. For more information, visit here.
In other news, Paramore have recently announced a limited-edition 12″ vinyl for Record Store Day which features David Byrne covering their track ‘Hard Times’.
The exclusive release will feature the pop-punk icons’ cover of Talking Head’s ‘Burning Down The House’ as a B-side. Per Alternative Press, the 12″ vinyl will be an “extremely limited run exclusive for Record Store Day in 2024.”
Noah Kahan and Olivia Rodrigo have also announced a joint Record Store Day 2024 7″-inch pressing titled ‘Olivia Rodrigo ‘Stick Season’/Noah Kahan ‘Lacy’ – FROM THE BBC RADIO 1 LIVE LOUNGE’.
The vinyl will include Rodrigo’s cover of Kahan’s hit song as well as Kahan’s cover of Rodrigo’s ‘Guts’ track.
2024 marks the 17th edition of the event, and it comes after the news that vinyl sales rose by nearly 15 per cent in the first nine months of 2023, despite the ongoing dominance of streaming services.
