Does ‘Astro Bot’ have multiplayer?
Astro Bot has become one of Sony‘s most successful games to date, achieving a coveted 94 on Metacritic. But some players are keen to know if they can play with their friends and hop into levels in multiplayer.
This article will give you that answer and tell you the likelihood of new additions and features being added to the game that support multiplayer more.
Does ‘Astro Bot’ have multiplayer?
Astro-Bot does not have multiplayer. The game is only playable alone. This isn’t anything new for the series as both Resuce Mission and Playroom were single-player adventures.
Of course, if you are playing locally you can switch between you and your friends or family members as you play through levels. But, it is disapointing to not be able to join them and hunt collectibles or the 300 Astro Bots scattered around the game together.
The game is unlikely to get any kind of multiplayer support either, with challenges and time-trials showcased on a leaderboard being the main focus of the post-launch support, similar to Astro’s Playroom.
However, the developers of the game have already seemingly teased a sequel in the game’s trophy list, so multiplayer could end up being included in the next game. After all, Team Asobi have a good formula locked down now and it would make sense to expand the game in different ways now that they have experience making a full-fledged platformer after a VR game and a tech demo in the form of Astro’s Playroom.
So, don’t lose all hope that you will never be able to play an Astro game with your friends. You just might have to wait a little while longer.
