Dua Lipa Gets New Wax Figure at Madame Tussauds Ahead of Her New Album: See the Photo
Dua Lipa is stepping into a new era following the announcement for her upcoming album Radical Optimism, but not before having her past few years of Future Nostalgia immortalized by Madame Tussauds.
The museum’s Orlando location will unveil a new wax figure of the 28-year-old singer Friday (March 15), paying tribute to her Future Nostalgia Tour. The model poses in a lacy, hot pink bodysuit and matching opera gloves, a replica of the outfit Dua wore during her high-grossing 2022 trek.
With one arm draped over her head, the lifelike copy wears sparkly eye shadow and sports recreations of the real “Levitating” musician’s arm tattoos.
“When the world stopped in 2020, Dua Lipa was the first artist to ensure we all kept dancing in our living rooms with her smash record, Future Nostalgia,” said Paul Gould, general manager of Madame Tussauds Orlando, in a statement. “This figure is a love letter to the superstar and album that held our spirits high during a truly unprecedented time.”
“Her impact on pop music is inspiring,” Gould added. “Her addition to Madame Tussauds Orlando is a celebration of her undeniable influence on culture and music across the globe.”
Released at the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Future Nostalgia reached a peak of No. 3 on the Billboard 200 in March 2021, almost a full year after it debuted on the chart. It spawned two of Dua’s biggest singles to date — “Levitating” and “Don’t Start Now,” both of which peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On Wednesday (March 13), the Argylle star announced that her highly anticipated third studio album Radical Optimism is set to arrive May 3. She also unveiled the project’s tracklist and cover art, which features her swimming with what appears to be a shark fin lurking just a few feet away.
