‘Elden Ring’ streamer Perrikaryal is beating the DLC with just her mind

Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree

Elden Ring streamer Perrikaryal is proving to everyone who says the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC is too hard that it’s simply an issue of willpower. She’s currently beating the DLC using just her mind, with brain scanning technology that turns her thoughts into game inputs.

Perrikaryal isn’t new to playing Elden Ring this way, she’s been doing it for over a year now, already beating one of the game’s toughest bosses, Malenia, using the mind-control method. Shadow of the Erdtree is considered by many even more difficult than the base game, and people are leaving negative reviews for it on Steam because of this. However, Perrikaryal shows anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

You can see more of Perrikaryal’s playthrough live on her Twitch channel or via her VODs, and she shares clips like the one above to her Twitter. Renalla is the second major boss in the DLC, and as you can see, she’s no pushover. Perri has to summon another player to help take some of the heat off her so she can get her attacks in, but it’s no cakewalk, she still has to time her dodges, attacks, and healing properly to ensure victory.

Speaking to Kotaku last year, Perry said, “it’s basically a whole bunch of code that is very, very janky.” She added that her set up often doesn’t work first time and she needs sto tinker with it on stream, but in theory, anyone wit her code and hardware could do this, if they could also immitate her “supreme, supreme focus.”

In other news, Slay the Princess indie developer Black Tabby Games has told fans that they can pirate the game if they can’t afford it and just buy a copy later if they can.
