Last year, Elon Musk shared a video of him clearing a level 150 pit in Diablo 4 before claiming he was one of the best players in the world. Then, earlier this year, he confirmed he was behind one of the highest levelled hardcore characters in Path Of Exile 2.
However during a Twitch stream, he seemed confused by the game’s basic mechanics, causing a number of fans to accuse him of cheating. He denied it at the time but has now admitted that those achievements are not solely down to him.
So many life lessons to be learned from speedrunning video games on max difficulty. Teaches you to see the matrix, rather than simply exist in the matrix.

YouTuber NikoWrex has shared a conversation he had with Musk via X where the tech-billionaire claims it’s “impossible to beat players in Asia if you don’t,” have someone else play your account for you or buy additional equipment.
He went on to say he never claimed to take full credit for his Path Of Exile 2 character. “The top accounts in Diablo or Path Of Exile require multiple people playing the account to win a levelling race.” He did claim that any stream is “100 per cent” him though.
NikoWrex then asked Musk if he wanted to apologise to the Path Of Exile 2 community. “What would I be apologising for,” he replied.
This admission comes a few days after ex-girlfriend Grimes took to social media to defend Musk’s gaming achievements. “Just for my personal pride, I would like to state that the father of my children was the first American druid in Diablo to clear Abattoir of Zir and ended that season as best in the USA,” she wrote on X.
“He was also ranking in Polytopia, and beat [creator] Felix himself at the game. I did observe these things with my own eyes. There are other witnesses who can verify this. That is all.”
Yesterday (January 20) Elon Musk caused controversy for seemingly making two Nazi-like gestures during a speech at President Donald Trump‘s inauguration in Washington DC. “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired,” he wrote on social media shortly afterwards.
