Eminem performs live

Eminem has announced a deluxe edition of his latest album, ‘The Death Of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’ – find out more below.

Last night, the rapper took to social media to announce the deluxe version of the record, which has been titled the ‘Expanded Mourner’s Edition’. The expanded version is due to arrive this Friday September 13.

So far, no other information has been revealed about the record, including the additional tracks that weren’t on the original release. Its announcement came with a trailer, in which Eminem is seen walking into a store to pick up a carton of milk.

He drops the carton after seeing a missing poster on its side, signifying that his alter-ego Slim Shady has vanished. He’s then chased out of the store by producer Alchemist.

Watch the trailer below.

The announcement comes ahead of the MTV VMAs tomorrow morning (September 12), where the rapper has been confirmed for the opening performance. Also performing throughout the awards show will be Megan Thee Stallion, Blackpink’s Lisa, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Shawn Mendes, Camila Cabello, Halsey, Katy Perry and more.

In a three-star review of ‘The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce)’NME wrote: “Much more powerful is ‘Temporary’, a genuinely moving ode to his daughter, Hailie, which proves Marshall Mathers can say something that matters when he wants to.

“So, who killed Slim Shady? In bringing him back to the light and showing him up as irrelevant, perhaps Eminem’s done his old pal in for good. OK, we get it – Shady was a shocking character. Now that he’s dead, how about getting some new material?”

Elsewhere, Tyler, The Creator has apologised to Eminem for his ‘Recovery’ criticism.
